The work emerged from photographs taken during a trip to the USA in January 2019.

​

At the time the United States of America were experiencing the longest Government shutdown in their history, occurred from midnight on December 22 2018 until January 25 2019 (35 days). This shutdown stemmed from an impasse over Trump’s demand for $5.7 billion in federal funds for a U.S.–Mexico border wall. 

The work was made and then divided in three groups: 

 

No ******sing is a collection of images shot
mainly in the streets of Brooklyn and Manhattan, echoing real and imaginary lines, borders, rules and ideas of freedom of movement.

 

American Walls and Fences is a collection of physical
barriers in the streets of NYC and Washington D.C.

Natural Borders (after Hiroshi Sugimoto’s Dioramas) is a typological collection of imaginary landscapes out of
large stuffed mammals in American Museum of Natural History of New York.

​

The work was created as three little booklets or three chapters for a small publication.
